Shinnosuke
"Shin-chan" Nohara
Shin-chan is a small kindergarten-aged boy
with Chuck Manson eyebrows and a very distinctive voice that will burn
itself deep into your brain. The easiest way to explain the persona of this
kid is to make a simile to a cross between Dennis the Menace and Freddy Kruger of Nightmare on Elm Street fame. He's not necessarily evil but
wherever Shin-chan goes, chaos follows ... and his mother probably isn't too
far behind. |

"Zou-san"
Since this is a public forum, it's probably not a wise idea to explain what
is Zou-san in detail but Shin-chan embraces the concept and all of the Nohara males have done the Zou-san. Zou is Japanese for elephant. Elephants
have long trunks which they like to swing around and around. |

Hiroshi
"to-chan" Nohara
Shin-chan's father, the hard working wage earner. His success as a
businessman have allowed his family to live a fairly comfortable
middle-class life. Unfortunately, this also means that he doesn't get much
"quality time" with Shin-chan. However, the time that he does spend with
Shin-chan reveals a different side to the hard working businessman, a side
that isn't very much unlike his son.. Because of his wife, this alter ego
doesn't see the light of day very often and the only place that he can find
refuge is in his dreams. However, that isn't to say that his vengeful wife
hasn't found her way into his dreams.. or is that nightmares? |

Misae
"ka-chan" Nohara
Shin-chan's mother. She would like to be the perfect homemaker but she has a
small problem, about 3'6", by the name of Shinnosuke. She rules the Nohara
household with an iron fist that is regularly whacked against Shin-chan and
her husband's head. Lurking behind the good little housewife exterior is a
very short temper that Shin-chan can snap with almost no effort. When she
snaps, the term "to burn with anger" is very fitting.. He is able to send
her over the edge in an endless multitude of ways. Shin-chan's more common
methods include doing the "Zou-san" in public, trying to pick up
women on the street, and reminding her of how flat-chested she is (however,
she claims 89cm). Since Shin-chan's father is usually off at work, Shin-chan's
condition could be blamed on how she's raising him. However, upon closer
examination, a more frightening revelation rears its ugly head. |

Himawari
Nohara
Shin-chan's little sister. |
|
Shiro
Shin-chan's dog. Small, white, and stupid. REALLY stupid. Nene-chan and the
gang found him abandoned on the street and Shin-chan took him home. If the
dog had any intellegence, it would have run away a long time ago. Instead,
it silently suffers the abuse that Shin-chan dishes out day after day. Shiro
isn't an extremely talented dog, but it does knows one trick which involves
the command, Chinchin kai kai. If you can't guess what this means,
believe me, you definitely wouldn't want to know. |
